Everyone likes a great deal, especially on products they buy most. But not everyone discovers a great deal the same way. Kroger’s popular CartBuster savings event offers deep discounts on popular items. During this 14-day promotion running from February 27 to March 12th, customers will receive CartBuster savings on products from favorite brands like P&G, General Mills, Nestle, and Pepsi by visiting the Kroger Facebook page.

To celebrate these special CartBuster deals, Kroger teamed up with SocialMoms to bring you a fun, money-saving blogging program! Kroger is looking for up to 50 SocialMoms in 17 states (listed below) to share tips for saving money at the grocery store and to help spread the word about this special 14-day CartBuster event. We thought this might be of interest to you. If this sounds like something your blog readers, Twitter followers and Facebook fans would love, then read on!

How it works:
We are looking for fifty creative, original and authentic submissions of high quality. Create an original essay post on your blog, in 400 words or more (using your own words), about getting the best deals from the brands your family loves. Here are just a couple of the offers your readers can expect:

What are your secrets for saving money while grocery shopping? Share your creative ideas for adding more to your shopping cart without spending more. We want to know how you get the best deals at the grocery store -- and how promotions like the Kroger CartBuster progam can fit into those suggestions. Help your network of followers maximize their savings over the next 14 days by giving them the scoop on these CartBuster deals. Include a thoughtful introduction, original content within the body of your post, and a conclusion. Check your spelling and grammar. You must also include our disclosure statement (below) in your post and install the campaign widget in the sidebar of your blog. Then follow the rest of the requirements below. We will review every post and select the first 50 submissions who meet these requirements to receive a $50 Kroger Gift Card!

Highlights from your posts, tweets and tips will be collected and featured on http://cartbuster.socialmoms.com, and distributed across the web for all to see and drive traffic to your blog. The program starts on February 25, 2011 and the submission window closes at 11:59pm PST on March 12, 2011. We will contact the first 50 qualifying bloggers on or about March 18, 2011. Requirements:
To participate, we ask that you:

1. Create an original essay blog post on your blog, in 400 words or more, about "getting the best deals from the brands your family loves." Please include a thoughtful introduction and conclusion in addition to the main body of your essay. Give it plenty of thought, and include content that your readers would like to hear about and can connect with! Short or poorly written posts will not be accepted. Copying and pasting does not count. Blank posts submitted to create a blog link on the discussion page will be disqualified. Don't copy another blogger's post or ideas. Plagiarism is a grounds for immediate disqualification.

2. Participants must include the following disclosure as a footnote of their post:
“I wrote this blog post while participating in the SocialMoms Kroger CartBuster blogging program, for a gift card worth $50. For more information on how you can participate, click here.” (make sure you link to http://cartbuster.socialmoms.com/about)

3. Install the campaign widget in the side bar of your blog.

4. Log on to your Twitter account, www.twitter.com, and send a tweet including a link to your blog post with the hashtag #CartBuster.

5. Return to www.SocialMoms.com and post a comment on this discussion page in the comments section below, including an active link to your blog post and a direct link to your Twitter tweet. (You can click on the date/time link below your tweet to get the direct link to your tweet.)
