Age yourself! What was your favorite cartoon growing up? Is it the same as your child's favorite?

I was uploading a new musical CD today to my profile and it features Sesame Street characters. I used to watch Sesame Street and so did my kids. I love that I have that to share with them! I remember that Big Bird was my favorite character. My son loved Cookie Monster and daughter was fascinated with Grover. My second favorite is Bugs Bunny but then that ages me! Remember the Smurfs? They are back!
It made we wonder what kind of cartoons Twitter Moms watched growing up!

The Smurfs and Alvin and the Chipmunks were my two top favorites! I also loved The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and Bugs Bunny. My daughter does like The Jetsons, but that's about the only one that we have in common. LOL

How fun! I liked to watch Jabberjaw (this was actually my nickname growing up - wonder why) and Disney cartoons - Humphrey the Bear was awesome! I've shown it to the kids and they loved it as well. :)

I mean that the Smurfs are back on TV but they just don't have the same appeal as the first time they launched. I was a huge collector of their little figurines! I had to get every single one. Kind of like my daughter now with My Littlest Pet!

All time fav is Bugs Bunny....loved Bugs so much that I had a Bugs Bunny and Honey Bunny figurine on my wedding cake! My other fav is by looney tunes it's the cartoon where it's the big Bull Dog named Marc Anthony who finds a little black kitten and he wants to keep it....and all the escapades he goes thru to keep the kitty. Fav episode of Bug is the one in the castle with the mad scientist and the big red monster named Gossamer.

My favorite was Scooby Doo! And yes, my daughters love it. But now they also have Scooby Doo & the gang as young kids. I love it when they show a real old episode (like with the Munsters or Harlem Globetrotters or Sandy Duncan!) because then I can tell them that Mommy used to watch this one after she got home from school! Remember when they only showed cartoons after school for a couple hours & on Saturday mornings?!! Now there are whole channels devoted to cartoons 24/7!! These kids don't know how lucky they are! HAHAHAHAHA!

For me, it was all about the Smurfs. I used to collect the little figurines and tried to create my own Smurf village. I was pretty successful at it, too. I had the mushroom houses, every version of Smurfette, even though there was only ONE - and all the other Smurfs, Gargamel, Azrael - the whole clan. I also used to love the Snoopy cartoons - my favorite was Snoopy Come Home, and the show the inside of Woodstock's birdhouse -and its all decked out. I loved that!

I loved all of the above too! I loved the holiday versions of Peanuts! The pathetic Christmas that Charlie Brown picked out never got old, especially cause of Snoopy!

Ok People I am going to go way back to place where cartoons were funny and had meaning. Yes, the 70s. My favorites are the Laugh Olympics, Hong Kong Phooey, and Looney Tunes. Out side of cartoons I love Sesame Street like crazy. Grover was what Elmo is today. Ohh! Don't forget about the Muppet Show. My kids are only like Looney Tunes, but they do like Scooby Doo. Everything else from my day is too boring for them.
